There is a lot of banter on the web concerning California’s new enforcement guidelines concerning their existing sound level ordinance. The existing ordinance states that no motor vehicle shall exceed 95dB as measured 19.5″ from the tailpipe at a 45° angle. Many of the exhaust systems we manufacture will not satisfy those requirements, however all systems can be configured to do so. At M&K our goal is to offer the enthusiast every option we can to create the sound, look and performance they desire. In response we have created a STREET version of our popular dual inlet sport mufflers and plan to add additional models to that line. Single inlet system have many options for sound level depending on what pre-muffler and final muffler are chosen. Our Active Exhaust for SC and Carrera allows you to have full control of how loud the system is when activated. Also we have many options such as baffles and caps for those who wish to calm current systems or fine tune any system. Because the fine for non compliance can be up to $1000 it is best to verify the system on your car is compliant. Our systems fit many different engine configurations and applications. Because of the wide variety of engine sizes and modifications we have no way to assure that every application will be in compliance. A simple free phone AP is all you need to test this. Calibration of these APs may have a large variance so error on the conservative side. For more information please call and thank you for your support!
